Pinball (2685), Allerød, Denmark Oct 21, 2009 clear amber, large smooth offwhite head.
Sweet malty, nutty aroma, crisp.
flavor is quite smoked or roasted, malty, a little sweet. maize, fruity notes, alc shows clearly when warming up. this reminds me most of a cheap strong beer, but with some interesting comlexity added in, unbalanced. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2009 750ml Bottle: Aroma of malts, nuts, grains, and a slight hint of cocoa. Poured deep amber/copper in color with a large, creamy, rocky, off-white/slight beige head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Very good to excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malts, nuts, grains, slight paper, a hint of tobacco, and a slight hint of cocoa. Medium body. Smooth texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, malts, nuts, grains, and slight tobacco finish. 8%ABV is undetectable. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Aug 27, 2009 a really tasty brew! it doesn’t look that impressive though: cloudy amber with little white head. but the aroma is fruity with hint of prune. very fruity flavor, sweet but has enough complexity, quite enjoyable. satan165 (540), River Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 26, 2009 appearance is mostly unclouded ruby, quite striking. head reduces to and remains a film quickly. aroma is lightly crunchy toffee brittle. mouthfeel is totally unexpected, very soft and pillowy. more caramel in taste along with nutty notes not unlike a dopplebock. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 27, 2009 Bottle. Amber. Light head. Bready caramel nose. Woody caramel flavour with hardly a trace of alcohol. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 16, 2009 For the price, I should’ve liked this beer better than I did. Started off well with a foamy off-white head and a clear dark copper colour, and nicely carbonated to boot. (Another one that looked like a Pepsi!). Aroma was almost absent but for an inkling of malt, but that’s all. Taste was pleasant but all I could detect was maybe some coffee? Odd beer, probably ideal for washing down one’s Freedom Fries. Borresteijn (1347), Amstelveen, Netherlands Jun 23, 2009 33cl Bottle from a gift pack. Clear deep amber colour, creamy off white head. Aroma of a thick sweetness, light toasted malts, honey and caramel. Flavour is sweet at first, honey and caramel, very malty, followed by a dry and light spicy bitter finish. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. Although a bit on the sweet side, a nice offering. Reminded me (especially the nose) of Paulaner Salvator. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jun 20, 2009 Bottled. Clear amber color, short head. Aroma is dusty, some malt, slight fruity. Malty taste, bit sweet. Bit boring.
