Bottle labeled as best before 10/14/06. Poured clear amber with giant long-lasting white head. Soft carbonation. Caramel and sweet malt aromas. Medium bodied Belgium amber ale that starts dry with light malt sweetness and toasted malt/spice/caramel/ candy-like flavor. Finished dry with light hop bitterness. Well-balanced. Complex flavor character. No funky notes. This is a very enjoyable drinkable amber beer. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Pours amber (as the name says) with a rocky tannish head. Aroma has brown sugar, spice and caramel malt. Body is just a little heavier than medium bodied and has very soft carbonation. Initial taste has caramel and cotton candy (sweet in taste, but not really cloying) and some light anise and toffee. Finish has dry and grainy spiciness and spritzy hop spice mixture. An enjoyable beer. MarkoR (224), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

No lacing though. Good prune aroma with a spiced hops style nuance that make this interesting. Lots of caramel too. Spicy flavours with floral, woody, and burnt malt invite. Good bitter sweet hops/malt finish. Nice! Thanks Milos from Chaucer’s!
