The nose is malty, fruity, honey perhaps; barnyardy and caramel. Sweet malty taste, noticable but nice alcohol, caramel, fruit and a touch of spice. Nicely balanced. Full bodied, moderate carbonation. I like it a lot. Malakin (465), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 2, 2005 Pours a reddish brown with a thin head. Fruity nose with some noticeable alcohol, yeast, spicy. The flavour is sweetly malty with the alcohol popping up again as well as some floral notes, lightly yeasty with medium carbonation. A pretty good beer. Now let’s see how it ages. Belial (60), France
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2005 A nice light brown/red colour with a small head. Quite sparkling with a discreet salty flavour at the beginning, it flows easily in the mouth. Some strong malt and grapes aromas.
A very good bear I would drink along bread with a sweet spread on it, possibly with peanuts or pork with a sweet sauce. hopdog (5576), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a darker mahogany color with a smaller sized tan head. Kinda of a musty and earthy aroma with leather coming out as it wamed up. Tastes of spices, light caramel, and earthy. Light alcohol in the finish. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a reddish amber color with a small, off white head, that left sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of hay, barnyard, caramel malts, cognac, dust, and light spices. Taste of caramel malt, tart citrus, earthy, with white grapes and light alcohol as well. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 2, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Very beautiful amber coloured beer. No real sediment, but tiny bits of floating impurities. Light brown and quite stable head. Very malty with distinct notes of caramel. Sweetness balanced well by the hops. The potent alcohol is well hidden. 021103 DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Noticable alcohol in taste and sour corn aroma. Decent, probably exactly what the style is intended to be. Will age a few bottles to see if it gets more interesting.
