Good looking, golden, little carbonation but a sizeable foamy white head - but othewise unimpressive. The aroma is of the pulp between the orange skin and the fruit, yeasty and musty. It’s oily in the mouth - something I don’y believe I’ve said before in a rating. The flavor is a slightly bitter, indefinite citric taste, some sweet malt, but no traces of the abv. It finishes on a bitter/tart note. Not a bad drink, but not remarkable.

spicy aroma with an almost chalkiness, and mustiness. Pours a golden yellow, carbonated, nice white head. Very smooth and almost refined. Slight sweet finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Not much to it but I enjoyed it anyway.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pretty, golden with floating impurities and a tall, frothy head. Sweet and lightly perfumy with an alcohol glow. Initially light, soft and mellow with a rather low carbonation. But som late fusty notes come creeping up on you giving this a very artisanal touch. 101101

Stale apple juice, malt, and diesel alcohol in the nose. Somewhat pale orange-gold, thin short head. Sweetish with brandy notes, but a bit plasticky and the alcohol stands out too much. I’ll have to guard it for a couple of years and see what happens to it.

Rich gold in colour with a fair bit of carbonation. Great aromas of toasted malt, and soft fruit (peaches perhaps). Flavor wise, it has a nice malty sweetness, along with additional notes of citrus fruit and spices. It’s quite heavy in the mouth with a warming finish. Solid stuff. Cloudy dark golden body, nice bubbly head. Sublte malty aroma with hints of fruit. Floral malty flavour with sharp bitter sensation at back of mouth. Somewhat airy floral aftertaste at the roof of the mouth. Nice sharpness on the gums. Very carbonated, but appropriate for this type of beer.

Ambrée aux reflets orangées, peu de mousse blanche, très faible dégagement gazeux lors du service. Arômes de cask boisé, de pêche en concentré, de sirop de mais en quantité, de grain et de muffin au son sur une faible note anisée. Légumes bouillis, maîs et jus de planche ne sont qu’un faible attrait pour l’énorme résidu de sucre non-transformé. Texture aqueuse dans un corps semi mince, carbonatation timide et effacée.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark yellow color ale with nice big head with better then average retention. Aroma is quite floral but does not seem to contain any spices, as I would have expected. Taste is quite refreshing with some nice floral malt and lingering bitterness at the end. Body is a bit thin for a ‘’biere de garde’’ and this generally lack some punch to be truly remarkable.
