Bottled. Dark amber coloured, small beige head. Aroma is metallic with hints of caramel, slight roast, spices and salted licorace. Flavour is salted licorace, some caramel, slight hints of malts and really weak metallic hints in the background. Once it warms up it gets really much like salted licorace.

Bottle. Large fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted. Very nice display of lacework. Clear sparkling amber color. Aroma was light dusty grains, with a mix of sweet caramel, hint of fruit, light spice and some roasted and candies sugar. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat dry texture with a hint of alcohol. Flavor was moderated caramel sweetness, note much bitterness to balance it with. Finish is again very sweet caramel. Maybe to sweet, but I still thought it was a nice beer.

Bottle: Pleasant French Dubbel-style ale with some spice, caramel taste and a long lasting foamy head.

Deep dark amber colored, big light brown head. Sweetness, caramel, raisins and slight licorice in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is sweeter with plums, raisins, caramel and slight licorice. Somehow soapy flavor with slight sourness, aftertaste turns out to have berries. Too sweet, still complex brew.

Hints of chocolate and coffee in the smell. Beautiful dark color with a lacey white head. Unfortunately the flavor is strangely unremarkable. The finish is strong with nary a hint of bitterness. For a Strong Belgium, the alcolohol is hidden almost to it’s detriment. I can’t believe 7.5%. A nice beer that is very un-french, if you know what I mean. Cheers.

Chocolate brown colour with not much head. Rich aroma with notes of chocolate. Flavor is roasted malty with some spicy tones and a touch of alcohol. Quite sweet taste but thin bodied, and not very balanced.

Mahogany color, moderate head. The aroma has notes of malt, fermented fruit and alcohol. The mouthfeel is smooth. the flavour is sweet and acidic in a kind of weird way. Just like someone unsuccessfully poured lemon in it to balance the sweetness. It has notes of candy sugar, apple peel, black currant and lime. I’m not fond of it.
