Bottle. Hazy brown colour with a large beige head. Aroma is malty, bready, chocolate, brown sugar and dark fruits. Taste does not disappoint - caramel, roasted malts, candy sugar, some chocolate, nutty, coffee and dark fruits. Medium to full bodied and very nice.

Bottle. Beautiful color: A dark chestnut. Aroma is malty, almost like bread. Flavor is rich and malty. Some dried fruits as well. All in all, this is a wonderful beer in a very elegant bottle. I would definitely bring this to a fancy dinner.

(Bottle 75 cl) Dark brown - or perhaps rather chestnut brown - small, beige head and presumeably filtered. Some caramel in the nose and LOADS of caramel in the flavour + candi sugar + roasted malt - naturally. Sweetish with a dry, bitter finish. A perfectly balanced "Brune". 080705

Bottle at beerbistro. Pours a dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, coffee & chocolate. Smells quite nice. Flavour is nutty, a little sour and an unfortunate metallic taste. A decent beer.

Shared w. Greg Clow @ Smokeless. Sour cherry/oak nose, a bit of brown sugar. Toasty malt, sour cherry, a bit of maple. Almost seems spiced.

Bottle, Smokeless Joe’s. Very dark brown pour, bubbly tan head. Weird strong alcohol and molasses like malt aroma. Strong malt taste, thin mouthfeel. There is an odd rootbeer like taste going on here as well, and it was a tad "bottle like" as well. Not really sure what to think of this one - it is a well made beer and I enjoy parts of it, but the odd taste has really thrown me off.

Bottle shared with rudolf at Smokeless Joe. Chocolate brown colour with not much head. Rich aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Flavour is malty and nutty with some soft coffee notes. Finish is earthy and dry. Not bad.

Brown, clearish appearance with a dryish aftertaste. Very easy to drink with a slightly bitter lingering finish.
