The aroma is slightly sweet with notes of fruit and black currant. The color is brown and it has no head. THe flavor is very sweet - way too sweet - yet at the same time sour with notes of plums. A very boring flavor. The alchohol prickles the tongue slightly. This is not a good beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Dark brown - or perhaps rather chestnut brown - small, beige head and presumeably filtered. Some caramel in the nose and LOADS of caramel in the flavour + candi sugar + roasted malt - naturally. Sweetish with a dry, bitter finish. A perfectly balanced "Brune". 080705

75 cL bottle. Pours clear amber to brown with dense tan head. Light malty into light roasted aroma, minor bitterhops note. Flavour starts caramel malty, shows a light roasted note and more caramel. Light caramel/chocolate smoothness. Minor acidic note following before a distinct bitterness takes over into the finish.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured, small beige head. Aroma is metallic with hints of caramel, slight roast, spices and salted licorace. Flavour is salted licorace, some caramel, slight hints of malts and really weak metallic hints in the background. Once it warms up it gets really much like salted licorace.

Reddish dark brown. Nose mixes chestnut, toffee, chocolate, light molasses. Palate is a healthy mix of molasses, alcohol and dark chocolate. A little too spritzy for these dark malts - the carbonation just gets in the way here. Very sweet overall, with a slightly earthy, nutty finish. They call is a biere de garde on the bottle, but that is a stretch to say the least.

The 33cl bottle is 1 year old; it pours a wonderful dark amber color with a huge rocky head; too much carbonation. Caramel aroma, slightly oxidised, nutty and soapy. The body is medium-weak, it has a very simple caramel flavor, low bitterness and light alcohol punch. Too simple.
