after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 20, 2009 750, corked and caged. Pours a cloudy burnished medium amber with a dense, creamy, slightly sudsy tan head. Caramelly, slightly toffeeish nose with very rich notes of real butter cream. Not diacetyl butter--butter cream. Smells like some sort of insanely decadent pecan pastry. Not cloying, though, and, unfortunately, not quite dimensional enough to qualify as an exceptionally aromatic nose. Creamy medium body, very subdued carb. Caramel, cream, pecans, and a bit of toffee on the mid-palate, mild pastryish finish. Tasty, very holidayish, and something I would gladly serve to family and friends around a big ol’ turkey and ham. But not one that will haunt my dreams with memories of biere de garde pleasures. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Bottle. Dark amber. Thick head. Aroma is Biere de Garde cubed! Big caramel and hazelnut. Thick hazelnut, caramel and vanilla flavour with a lightly harsh candy finish. Intriguing Biere de Garde toffee candy effect. Take a bag home for Grandma. tomthompson89 (1456), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2009 Bottle from Binny’s in Chi town copper color some foam not a ton. nose is sweet and malty, kinda spicy i guess it could have a Christmas spice nose flavor is sweet again caramel or brown sugarish, boozy and spices are more upfront then in the nose bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Jun 15, 2009 Bottle.
