Fine dessert beer I guess, but I’d rather have a flanders red which will mesmerize me through its woodiness or a liefmans that is simply more complex. Not much acidity to speak of, but a mild mineralic bitterness finishes it off. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

Spumante mouthfeel and texture. Flavor was very tart raspberries. Just an average fruit beer. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2004 Raspberry and strawberry nose, taste was sweet, sugary and raspberry. Not as lambicy as I had hoped for, I had been aging this for almost 2 years. Soft and sweet, without any carbonation to note. One dimensional. The girls drank it. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2004 Great tart raspberry, good aroma. Low funk but high acidity, good color--ruby brown. Sweet and mild, not real sour at all. Like a tasty summer raspberry-ade. Hint of grapiness. Tasty but not beery. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 1, 2004 Raspberries are not as evident as hoped. Vaguely pinkish, raspberries not there much in nose. Berry character in flavor but a mite watered down, needs a bigger malt character to pair with the fruit. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 30, 2004 Tasted in NYC. Tasted at brewtopia 04. Aroma is an intense candy sweetness. Appearance is candy apple red, clear with a nice white head. Taste starts out sweet but finishes with a slight fermented fruit flavour. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2004 Bottle at Brewtopia 2004... Sparkling clear, copper ale... like a new penny. Small, pinkish, off-white head. The nose is of raspberries. The flavor is malty, fruity and well-hopped. The hops are the surprise here. Not nearly as geueze-like nor sour as I anticipated. Bitter-sweet, in fact. Medium-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, bitter-sweet finish. TheBeerGod (3152), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2004 Pours a DEEP ruby with a reddish tan head. Aroma is steeped in raspberries and fruit along with some malt and light yeast notes. Taste is tart and fruity but a little thinner than expected. It’s good, mind you, but not as rich as I’d hoped for. At any rate, very fruity and slightly acidic and carbonated mouthfeel and an almost pure fruit concentrate finish. Nice beer!
