Bottle @ chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Pours a darkish reddish color with a small white head. Has a fruity raspberry aroma. Sweetish fruity raspberry flavor. Has a sweetish fruity raspberry finish.

Bottle at Novare Res. Pours a deep red, with hints of amber coloring too. Head vanishes quickly. Aroma bites up front with tart raspberries. Flavor is neat, here’s what this does, the raspberries balanced with the malt in this beer make it almost like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s very carbonated, and very easy to enjoy, but a little peculiar. I like this a lot.

Bottle split with my wife over a nice duck dinner salad with a raspberry vinegarette. Courtesy of my sisterinlaw. Pours a nice clear crimson with good rose colored head that fades quickly. Nose of dry fake raspberries and yeasty note. Flavor is sweet and tart raspberries with some oakey quality. Some vanilla. Soft body. Nice dessert beer.

Pours a very deep ruby red brown with a slight haze and a light fluffy pinkish white head. Aroma is light sweet raspberry preserves with a tiny tartness and sligtly nutty. Flavor starts with a nicely subdued raspberry along with malt and a definite earthy floral quality. Never gets tart but gains more of a sweet raspberry presence through the finish. What I didn’t like was the super high carbonation that gives it almost a soda like presence in the swallow. Medium body and off putting carbonation. Not my favorite. Extra note. I poured the last of the bottle in and it added a delicious creaminess and more subdued carobation which helped a lot!

So, is this supposed to be some sort of rasberry Saison or Biere de Garde? Maybe? anyone? At any rate, it smells great, raspberry and apple and some spicy stuff in the background. Ths raspberry is surprisingly understated in the flavor, at least compared to the aroma. It never gets cloying or or too heavy, either. There is a hint of herbs and wineyness in the finish.

A hazy ruddy deep red-brown with a quick fizz of white head. Subdued fresh raspberries and raspberry pulp aroma. Taste is thin on a great raspberry taste that isn’t medicinal or harsh. But the great woody and caramel notes backup the fruit.

Bottle, bought at Aarhus Vinhandel. Pours clear red with a fine, fizzy, small, pink head. Fair duration. Aroma is quite funky, the raspeberries subdued, some caramel and hazelnuts peeping through. Highish carbonation, fine mouthfeel. As opposed to others on the site, I do not find the raspberries that powerful. A nice malty base with light tartness and good use of elegant raspberries. Quite woody as well. Finish is quite nicely tart.
