Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 4, 2004 A red beer with a fine but disappearing beige head. The aroma is acidic raspberry. The flavor is very sweet raspberry - too sweet and too much raspberries for me. And the carbonation is prickling all over - too much of that too. This is a French version of Alsterwasser. And it ended up just anothter rating for me. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 21, 2002 Deep red. Light bodied, sweet, vanillaish, sweetish raspberry flavour and light bitterness.
Papsoe (10359), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 25, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Hazy, reddish caramel colour with a small, off-white head. Fresh berry nose. Very heavy carbonation. Dry-bodied with an underlying tartness. Distinct raspberry flavours - unfortunately partly from artificial aromas. 251205 Oakes (6978), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 6, 2001 Phenomenal fruit beer. First, the raspberry flavour is so natural, so real - not like the cloyish extract many American brewers use. And the base is a blond biere de garde, and the firmness of malt flavour really backs up the fruit. This might be my all-time number one dessert beer. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 12, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours deep hazy red and with a pink head. Aroma is raspberry with a light phenol note. Flavour is sweet raspberry with a distinct underlying phenol note. Ends with a light liqourice and fruity blend, light acidity.
