Pours a dark orange/amber with an off-white head that lasts a while, then leaves a film. Yeasty aroma with some lemon notes and faint alcohol. Flavor has some light sweetness initially, but quickly rolls into a nicely tart citrus, enfolded in toasted white bread and very mild hops. I enjoyed the dry finish a lot, but after that the taste was a bit too clean. It’s a refreshing beer with some character, an unusual blanche to be sure--and thankfully no ridiculous spicing here, But it just misses a chance to be really great. Smells of - sorry, smelly feet. Very cheesy hops, and a sweetish, bready background. Some solvent. More solvent and quite sweet taste, fruity esters. Shortlived tartness (both bitter/sour) on the tongue. Balanced, but a wee bit uncertain. Medium bodied, but ending lighter. Slight tartness remains later throughout. Strange beer, more fruitbeer characteristics than special grain.
