| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Draft at the DRE. Deep yellow/gold clear pour with aromas of apricot, honey, spicy florals, pears, and some hoppy lemongrass. The flavor is sweet and pale malty up front, with not much carbonation, a lot of pear/apricot fruitiness, and a finish that gets like a fine sweet white wine such as a Niagara. Gets more spicy and floral notes as it warms. Complex and enjoyable. Kinz (2213), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2006 Pale gold, clear, good initial head fades quick. Aroma primarily of cotton candy sweetness and a bit of orange. Flavor was quite similar. Belgian yeasty notes came through, and the finish was rather surprisingly on the bitter hop side, along with a citric flavor. Did they finish this with American hops? Not bad, not great. Tap at Capital Ale House. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2006 Tap at Capital Ale House Innsbrook -- Pure gold body, with a large level of carbonation, heavy white head. Interesting aroma, sour apple, vinegar, light spices that are all similar to a Flemish Sour. Taste is like a Belgian blond, sweet fruits, banannas and other flavors, a very clean and smooth ending. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Backrating from Monk’s Cafe in Feb 2006: Pours to a deep amber body, slightly cloudy, with a small white head that quickly recedes. The aroma is quite sweet - light molasses, pale malt syrup, candi sugar, along with some very spicy, bitter, and earthy hops. According to the description this one is hopped solely with Tomahawk, no other spices used. The taste is spicy, very earthy hops, though they’re not of the same assertiveness that you’d see in a hoppy IPA, some light molasses, caramel, sweet pale malts, a bit of yeast, and a flavor similar to eucalyptus. Meidum bodied, thick & syrupy, moderately carbonated. The alcohol does not come through in this one, as xproudfoot mentions, so it drinks like a beer half its abv.
