bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Jul 19, 2006 more of a fat tire esque beer here, amber orange color, with sweet fruit hop nose. full bodied with a bit more umph then the others. still not great but good enough to drink here in thailand. vanvenlo (784), Glen Iris, Australia Sep 1, 2005 27 Jun 2005 - (Bangkok Airport, Terminal 2, Brewpub - last beer before going home) - Floral and stone fruit malt aroma. Clear brown-orange colour with nice lacing and reasonable head. Full fruit and malt flavour with hoppy vinuos flavours. Tangy fruit finish and medium mouthfeel. Lunkie (1006), Glen Iris, Australia Jul 5, 2005 Sweet malt aroma with stone fruit and flowers. Clear orange brown colour with fair head and lacing. Sweet malt flavour. Fizzy palate. Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 27, 2004 Orange-tinged light brown colour. Slightly browned head. Oh my god - hops! I remember those! Piney with a hint of pommelo, wood and tobacco. If this were cigar I’d be loving this. Woody tasting palate , slight citrus and bitterness. Oooo. Underneath is chewy caramel. Despite shocking my palate with flavours unknown in months, I have to be realistic. It’s not that good. Sully (1363), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Feb 9, 2004 Well, given the lack of grunt provided by the others I decided to splurge and pay 145baht for the biggun. This is still only less than $5 Aussie so if good it will be worth it. well it is an OK beer. There are disctinct malty notes and good mouthfeel which is backed up by a good coppery colour and malty/hop aroma. At least there is evidence that this was brewed with an ale yeast as some of the necessary characters come through. Perhaps the palate for this beer is not one of a typical ratebeerian. Most of the visitors don't seem to care what they order from my brief observation. They are here for a bite to eat and a drink before they board a flight to be offered a bite to eat and a drink an hour later. Discerning.
