La Mare au Diable Mauvaise Idée

On tap at the pub. The aroma did not prepare me for what was to come.Fruit flavors where awesome,the first sip i took i tasted strawberry..?Then came peach,pineapple and grapefruit.The brewer made me taste a bit of white port and the likeness was striking.Bitterness was medium and the alcohol well hidden that is where the name comes from (the Bad idea) i am always amazed when a brewer can pull off a stunt like this.This beer was awesome, very well done Christophe. L’arôme ne m’a pas préparé pour ce qui allait venir.Toutes sortes de fruit ont explosés dans ma bouche.La première gorgée j’ai goûté de la fraise...? Pêche,pamplemousse,ananas,WOW! pas aussi maltée que j’aurais cru.Le brasseur m’a fait goûter du porto blanc en même temps et le goût était très similaire.L’amertume était moyenne et le taux d’alcohol très bien caché, d’où le nom... Je suis toujours impressionné quand un brasseur réussi a produire une bière aussi forte sans se planter. Très bien faite, bravo Christophe! Barley wine is not exactly what this beer is we will soon need new categories for beers like this.
