| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2008 750ml bottle. A saison that reveals a variety of flavors and aromas as you slowly sip it. Cloudy amber body below a big, frothy off-white head that lasts. The nose is yeasty with earthiness and barnyard. That’s balanced with floral/perfume hops and sweet malts — toasted grain and caramel. Notes of spice, especially clove and cinnamon as well as hints of apple cider and alcohol. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and moderately bitter. Moderate acidity throughout. The finish is moderately sweet, heavily bitter and slightly sour. Medium body with a velvety texture and lively carbonation. What’s so enjoyable about this beer is its complexity. Very well crafted. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA

Nose is woody, earthy with a touch of funk and cheese and cherry. Taste is a touch sour and funky with a nice rich full palate, earthy spicey woody notes in the finish. The saison character comes through in the finish but you get some caramel and sourness up front that makes this a unique experience. This is a hell of a good funky belgian. Awesome beer. unclemattie (2430), Georgia, USA
