Very aromatic, sweet, hoppy and a bit funky in the nose. Slightly fruity, like oranges, at the tip of the tongue before rolling into funky, yeasty bitterness, with a dry, hoppy finish. Alcohol is a bit too noticeable for a saison, that’s my only complaint. Otherwise a damn tasty beer. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: Medium-deep amber, large flakes of yeast, pinkish-tan head (huge) and good lacing.
Aroma: Sweet floral honey, yeast, mild acidic freshness, somewhat spicy and fruity (apples and tree fruits).
Palate: Medium body, somewhat astringent, very soft carbonation.
Flav.: Sweet, bread-like malts, some floral honey, very soft carbonation; a little sweet, somewhat bitter, alcohol is present; leaves a definite impression that lingers.
Pleasant and drinkable.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 14, 2007 750 shared with Brie. This was a nice spicy and slightly acidic saison. The malt was dark and nutty. The acidic peppery saision flavors are great with a heavier mouthfeel. The nutty flavors taste great as the beer warms up. This was refreshing but it was a little too dark to go with the salmon burgers that I cooked up. This was a nice saison with complex spicy citrus flavors and dark sweet nutty flavs. Not bad. puzzl (2647), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2007 750. This has been breathing for about 2 hours now (while being drank). Aroma is doughy, big yeast, slight spiciness, a bit of bitter hops. Pours with a big head. Very full, malty, rich, almost cheesy. Nuts, almond, lemon, wheaty yeast. Something isn’t quite sitting right with this one for me. The crystal malts seem a bit strong, lending too much caramel and nuttiness, which in turn makes the spicyness seem totally out of place. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2007 750 ml. bottle pours out a fairly clear light gold, and devleops a large and lasting white head with nice lace. Yeast, lemon, apricaot, and some faint brett notes in an inviting aroma. Clean palate, light body, and livley carboantion bring a refreshing quality. There is some acidity and light sourness to go along with some mild toffee sweetnes, but there is enough hoppiness that the finish is dry and satisfying. downender (2629), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2007 Bottle from Hopduvel, Gent. Cork exploded as soon as the wire cage was removed. Poured a cloudy brown with a huge, rocky tan head. Aroma was very yeasty with some supporting hops. Flavours were complex, with sweet malt, red fruit, some spices and herbal edges. Finish was dry and earthy. Very good. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2007 Slightly cloudy reddish-gold, with an amazing head and great lace. Restrained floral hop aroma, faint but rich. Wonderful sweet malt taste is immediately balanced by floral, refined hops. Warming, hoppy, clean aftertaste. Notes of doughy yeast. Creamy body & perfect carbonation. Brilliant beer, big in presentation and appearance, laid-back in taste and aroma. A joy to drink! BückDich (4856), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Bottle: The highly energized liquid expression pours forth a torrent of substantial flair to its already superfluous crown of lace. Quaff a bit of coriander, juniper, rye bread and rising dough. Bouquets of spice and yeast try to escape from the rising tide of foam. Down the hatch and there’s a lot of zest, put it down and i must have another test. Sweet and dandy, i like this beer, oh what a hobby!, I think all this needs is a little more body.
