Commercial Description:

Wow, very few ratings on this one, way to go Joe! Bottle, Smokeless Joe’s. Dark brown and very active appearance. Bubbly tan head. Spicy musty aroma. What is fast becoming to me "La Choulette spicy yeasty taste" that simply gets better and better as it warms. Nuttiness abounds. This is the beer the Brune wanted to be. Excellent.

Bottle. Hazy, orangey copper with a great creamy offwhite head. Chocolate nose with hints of spices, even orange. Flavours are marked by good fruitiness with oranges dominating. Sweetish, but not excessively so. Good carbonation. A very interesting and complex beer, more of a Wallonian amber than a biere de garde.

a sim rate: I totally meant to open my root beer and opened this before I realised I’d pulled the wrong bottle out of the fridge. I’m hardly disappointed though. The aroma has hints of nuts and fruits and smells a bit like christmas cake... and although I hate christmas cake, the aroma is gorgeous. The head dissapated quickly even though I had it in a Delirium glass. The flavour... well, all I can say about it is it tastes exactly like peanut butter. No doubt about it, it’s peanut butter. Yummmmmy!

Bottle, at Delirium Café, Göteborg. Amber to copper colour. Vinous aroma. Notes of blackcurrants, redcurrants, oak and bakery in aroma and flavour.

Shared w. Greg Clow @ Smokeless. Brown sugar nose, some floral hops, rich malt, chocolate. Body is rubyish brown wit a tihn head. Flavor has brown sugar, lemon, tart fruits, dusty malt. Decent malty finish - slightly grapey. I found the carbonation a bit harsh.

Aroma of pit fruit, candied malt and a hint of chocolate. Deep amber, pours a small tan head. Flavour starts off with some fruit, sweet malt, mild almond as well. Nicely balanced, pleasant bitterness. Very good offering! This is a unique example for the style.

Bottle shared with rudolf at Smokeless Joe. Hazy orange-brown colour with a small off-white head. Interesting aroma - sort of sweet, with some dusty funkiness. Mouthfeel is smooth and pleasant. Flavour has notes of coffee, cocoa, wood and dark cherry, with some yeast as well. Finish is quite short, with some light hop notes. A very unique beer.
