Papsoe (10261), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 15, 2005 Updated: Jul 5, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Very dark amber close to being brown. Quite stable off-white head. Nice flowery nose. The flowers reappear in the aroma together with some indefinable spices and lots of malt. Sweetish yet rather dry. Only a glimpse of hops. A good and rather new example of a great Belgian beer. 140405

Amber coloured, huge off-white head, spicy flowery nose. Malty, sweet fruity and spicy with notes of vanilla and honey. Quite weak flavor. Some notes of camomile and also not so pleasant metallic bite in the finish. Grovlam (3198), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Huge creamy off-white head that really lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Started out clear sparkling with particles in flow, but ended up almost muddy with a dark copper / amber color. Aroma was spicy, fruity, yeasty, toasted malt, citrus and mild metallic which passed away as the beer warmed up. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation and mild alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with a mild bitter and acidic counter note. Lingering malty and fruity spicy finish.
