A delight of a beer. The aroma reminds me of cider, but on a strong, healthy beery background. Low head on a hazy orange body. The taste was enchanting to me: strong but sweet, a perfect thirst-quencher as well as an unforgettable tasting experience. This is, by far, one of my top favourites. A more bitter aftertaste, but I really felt on top after tasting this brillant brew! Too bad the bottle wasn’t bigger. Next time I’ll llook for a cask!

wow, this is pure essence. straw flavors, light colors, plenty of effervescence but drawn back acids, and then in the nose -- all cellar/cork flavors. not overwhelmingly deep or curious but boldly is what it is. And I appreciate that tremendously. Thanks much to duff!

A bit rough, but powerful. The one I tasted were 2 years old, very nice.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a rocky white head. Sweet malty aroma with fruit and spices. Sweet malty and fruity taste; well hidden alcohol (apart from some very late warming) medium bodied, moderate carbonation. I do like these Bière de Gardes, very good.

bubbly golden like champagne with a smell that reeks of honeycomb and floarl esters. A touch of pepper instead of bitters creates a most welcome flavour. A definitely worthwhile brew. Probably the best french brew I have ever had!

Bottle. A clear straw golden yellow with a big, white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet with lots of maltyness. Some barn and a touch of alcohol. Quite full mouthfeel. Flavour is barn-like, honey, vinious and quite sweet - a good example of the style.

Copperish light amber. Aroma shows alcohol, peach, apple, light caramel. Palate starts with alcohol, adds some peachy, appley notes, and some higher alcohols. Body is slightly oily, corn syrupy, and slightly caramelly. Better than it looks on paper, though, this beer charmed me with its simple, rural style (and yeah, a 750 of 8.3% is bound to leave a good feeling in your head, too!)

Sweetish. Well carbonated. Good to share. Works with supper. French yeastiness and active, and peach and apple cider, lending some harshness to finish. Spice, pepper Medium mouthfeel, smooth. worth a try, though pricey and clearly not for everyone.
