Aug 14, 2007 Bottle, was very lively, pouring a hazy gold with a filmy white head. A strong yeast aroma with lots of fruit and just a touch of spice. Quite a creamy palate, more spice in the flavour and some orange fruit.

Aug 11, 2007 Had this as Koningshoeven Blond, not La Trappe. This pours a light orange color with a white head. The tast is malty sweet, with hints of clove and yeast. I also tasted a cotton candy orange/citrus flavor. Better than I expected for a single Trappist ale, and stronger than I would have thought.

Jul 26, 2007 (750ml bottle) Lightly hazed amber body with medium off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, very fruity (peach, orange, nectarine, cantaloupe), some alcohol, almond. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, raisin, some alcohol, faint cherry, soap. Creamy medium-full body, some wateriness. Too much alcohol for such a mellow ABV.

Jul 17, 2007 Bottle. Hazy straw to amber colour with a little white head that fades nearly straight away. Nose is slightly stale and of banana, alcohol and sweetish malt. Some citrus hints, but not big. Mouth is big on alcohol, some toffee and more banana, some sweet fruits and some bitter hoppiness. Palate is much of the same, warming and alcoholic presence.
