The nose is of aromatic, toffee-sweet malts and notes of honey and cherry. The flavour is earthy, yeasty (bubble-gum) and fruity, with plum and fig notes, light caramel sweetness, minerals, bubble-gum yeast, some dirty barnyard notes and some warmth from the alcohol. The mouthfeel is slick with a nice medium carbonation and a syrupy finish. Chia (42), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA

Short-lived, though effervescent and exuberant, head, and dark mahogany on the pour. Extremely appealing notes of honeyed-treacle to the nose, and similar on the palate with undertones of hops and yeast. Reassuring mouthfeel, with a profound morish quality. Very decent beer goldbrew (99), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Robust and luxurious head. Round presence and full mouthfeel. Carbonation is soft and pleasant. Not like a Unibroue fizziness. Very little heat. Not overtly malty and of course minimal to non-existent hoppiness. Less spicy and more thick than a Chimay Blue. That Belgian yeastiness is present throughout. Very enjoyable. note666 (289), Eindhoven, Netherlands
