Jan 12, 2008 Excellent dubbel! I brought a bottle back from Belgium and waited until today to drink it. I should have brought more. Although it is Dutch, it still has all of the flavor and character of a trappist dubbel.

Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. Koningshoeven label. Brown pour with garnet highlights. Frothy, ivory head. Dark fruit and malt nose with an almost sourdough-like yeast note. Creamy and sweet mouth feel with very little flavor.. There is a bit of dark fruit as well as a nice yeast note but it comes across as watered down. Bummer.

Jan 10, 2008 33 cl. bottle. Pours a clear garnet hue with a thick tan head. Sweet, maple syrup, vanilla almond smell. Medium bodied with decent carbonation.
Taste is rich, malty with dates, figs, and maple syrup. Alcohol taste is in the background. Hop flavor is absent.

Jan 9, 2008 Konings 7% bottle - nice deep mahogany brown. Fruity aroma, not strong. Tastes fruity and very yeasty, maybe some bitter hop. Very mouth filling feeling, a sweet harsh feeling going down. Dry, fizzy, slightly sweet finish. An ok beer, but only average for a Trappist.
