| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Cola in color, large rocky off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft bready nose, minor dark pitted fruit, yeasty, smells
like a Koningshoeven.   Semi-sweet, bready, very soft dark pitted fruit.   Not as heavy as many other examples, and in fact its a
little on the milder side.   Very fleeting, finishes very quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate at best.   Good start, but
falls off rather quickly.   Finishes clean, very minor breadiness and dark pitted fruit.   Good, but on the lighter side.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2007 11.2oz bottle, courtesy of Degarth. Has the Koningshoeven label. First thing noticeable upon pouring is a huge, rocky light tan head, with exceptional retention and lacing. A never ending layer of foam sits atop the beer when things are all said and done. Body is a rich maroon color that is nearly opaque. Nose contains fruity esters - plums, dates, raisins, figs, juniper berries - yeast, peppery spices and some earthiness. Also pick up some floral hints at the very edges of the aroma. Fore is very red wine like, peppery spice, tons of dark fruits and berries, with a constant backing from the yeast and a nice sense of biscuit or bread dough. Medium bodied, perfect mouthfeel for the style. Slight astringency. This one was very fun and interesting to drink, nothing spectacular but very solid and knows what it wants to be. One of those beers that feels very solid when you are drinking it, but the rating turns out much higher than it seems since the sum is greater than the parts. Finish is medium length, very juicy, fruits and yeast running all the way through, finishing with a nice drying kick to carry things to the end. danielyabu (297), União da Vitória, Brazil
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Amazing as a draft but I will review the bottle. Good overall balance, fresh taste, a bit too carbonated. The biggest drawback was the $6.70 price for 16 oz! rodenbach99 (708), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada
