| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Pored dark brown with a touch of red. More Syruppy and less carbonated than other Dubels I’ve tried. Nice iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2007 750mL bottle, no date. Clear ruby with a 2 1/2 finger fairly creamy lasting beige head. This isn’t as dark as most dubbels I’ve come across. Powdered sugared raisins, brown sugar, and scorched caramel are the most up front. There is also some light roasted malts and Belgian yeast. Flavor has the addition of hazelnut and some slight acidic tang from maybe some grape characteristics. Dry finish. Fairly smooth medium body with moderate carbonation. I enjoyed this more than the tripel--quite nice. wingman333 (249), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Draft...a rich brown ale with an apple-like aftertaste. There are some sour flavors to go along with the sweet. Carbonation less than what I’m used to with this style. Overall not bad, but not my favorite Abbey Dubbel. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2007 Pours a dark copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of plums, toffee, caramel, and molasses. Not as strong as I’m used to with the style. Flavors are pretty much the same with the dark fruits, toffee, molasses, and carmel being the stronger flavors. Pretty good but there are better beers from this style. nihar (68), Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pour is a dark red with a average tan head. Aroma is nice dark malts and some yeast with some alcohol showing up. Flavor is a touch of dark fruits and molasses with some toffee. Finish is kinda watery though. An ok rep of the style and what i would consider a starter beer for those new to the style. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Pours mahogany with a deep red hue and tight light tan head. The aroma is light with some dark bready malt and light yeast, and that’s it. Medium body that starts smooth and rich and gets thinner with lively carbonation. The taste is very subdued for a dubbel with some toffee and toasted malt with a bit of earthy yeast. The finish has some sharp sour traits. This is very mellow and unassertive for the style. Fair example.
