bhensonb (3221), Woodland, California, USA Jul 17, 2007 33 cL bottle. Wonderful aroma of dark fruits. Something of raisin bread. Opaque, dark color with a tan head. Thin to medium bodied. Sort of a dark bread taste, with some stewed dark fruit; not prune though. It coats the mouth with dark flavors, but it is not burnt or sweet. Suggests an overaged cask of Bombardier - tending towards earth. Arguably some yeast along with the dark bread. The finish is relatively dry, suggests dark flavors, and it is simply wonderful. I don’t have an adequate vocabulary to describe the complexity. I’d like to suggest fruit cake, but that’s just too light and too bready. This is it’s own wonderful thing.
sersdf (920), chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 4, 2009 Too red. This is lousy. Actually its not too bad. Once again smells like hard candy. Tastes like rancid hard candy. The only difference between this and their tripel is this is darker, less carbonated, and slightly better Delirium (447), Santa Cruz, California, USA Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a large-ish tan head. Aroma and flavor are both mostly molasses (I think?), light fruits, slightly roasted malt, and hint of yeast. Not a bad dubbel, but not really among the best; could use more yeast and at least a hint of hops. Travlr (427), Washington, Washington DC, USA Dec 26, 2008 Dark maroon with explosive tan head. Aroma of peanuts and malt. Flavor of almonds, caramel and malt with a slight bitter finish. gerardoluna (190), Mexico Dec 23, 2008 [Eyes] Redbrown color, light carbonatiom, some yeast in liquid. good head!
