Yeast nose with pear, apple and caramel and some nice spice. Pretty great nose. Exuberant carbonation and a nice burnt amber with a huge foamy beige head with big staying power. Well carbonated and yeasty up front with lots of caramel malt finishes with hints of apple and some dark fruit, suprising in this beer. Rather deep malt complexity and a pleasing lingering taste of butterscotch put this above all other Koningshoeven beers I’ve had. A very fine effort. travita (1952), Frisco, Texas, USA

Pours a clear glowing orange rich golden with a big super dense foamy cream colored head. The aroma is warm, vanilla, lightly spicy, Belgian yeast, rich sugars, some well integrated alcohol. Flavor is doughy, a bit hot, triple like, lightly rich, cloying-like flavor but without being so, hint of vanilla, finishes very yeasty lightly nutty with some lingering toasty warmness. Medium bodied, smooth ubiquitous fizzy carbonation, gives a slightly fluffy pillowy feeling. Pretty simple but well made and surprisingly drinkable. legion242 (1587), Richardson, Texas, USA
