Big thanks to Tony at OTH for sharing this one. Pours clear yellow gold with a frothy off-white head. Nose is malt, candy sugar, spice, pepper, and slight hop presence. Flavor is yeast, malt, pepper, soft spice, floral hops, and bread. Light to medium mouthfeel, sessionable and enjoyable. Monks gone wild.

750ml bottle from Coffee District. Yeast nose with pear, apple and caramel and some nice spice. Pretty great nose. Exuberant carbonation and a nice burnt amber with a huge foamy beige head with big staying power. Well carbonated and yeasty up front with lots of caramel malt finishes with hints of apple and some dark fruit, suprising in this beer. Rather deep malt complexity and a pleasing lingering taste of butterscotch put this above all other Koningshoeven beers I’ve had. A very fine effort.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a clear glowing orange rich golden with a big super dense foamy cream colored head. The aroma is warm, vanilla, lightly spicy, Belgian yeast, rich sugars, some well integrated alcohol. Flavor is doughy, a bit hot, triple like, lightly rich, cloying-like flavor but without being so, hint of vanilla, finishes very yeasty lightly nutty with some lingering toasty warmness. Medium bodied, smooth ubiquitous fizzy carbonation, gives a slightly fluffy pillowy feeling. Pretty simple but well made and surprisingly drinkable.

Not overly impressed. Slight honey presence but otherwise a very pedestrian Belgian.

33cl bottle poured into a La Trappe Trappist glass. Copper/amber with a decent amount of off-white head. Aroma is candy sugar and yeast. Flavor is bubblegum, yeast, and alcohol. Finish is mostly alcohol and some candy sugar. This is a very typical Belgian ale.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 750 ml caged corked bottle. Pours a murky light orange with a sift silky head that sticks around leaves a bit of sticky lacing. Fresh fruity aroma - peaches, cantaloupe come to mind. Chewy flavor with some soft raisin accents, a hint of chocolate and some cookie dough. Mouthfeel has nice carbonation to it. didn’t blow me over but a nice drinking Belgian.
