Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 750 ml caged corked bottle. Pours a murky light orange with a sift silky head that sticks around leaves a bit of sticky lacing. Fresh fruity aroma - peaches, cantaloupe come to mind. Chewy flavor with some soft raisin accents, a hint of chocolate and some cookie dough. Mouthfeel has nice carbonation to it. didn’t blow me over but a nice drinking Belgian.

Draught > Flying Saucer. Has the usual yeasty fruity flavor that shows up in all La Trappe beers. Good cherry esters on this one. Incredibly drinkable. Will drink again.

Bottle… Lightly hazy amber ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is complex mélange of caramel, biscuit, brown candy sugar, freshly baked bread, mandarin orange, light clove and a hint of sassafras. Medium to full-bodied with powerful carbonation. Leans a bit toward the sweet side of balance; offering up cookie, biscuit and whispers of clove, sassafras and mint. Crisp, lightly bitter, bready finish.

Bottle. Amber color. Malt, tangerine and a hint of pepper in the aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with pepper, tangerine, hints of tropical fruit and a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Pleasant and quite drinkable trappist ale.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper amber with a large frothy off white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet malt with yeast and banana. Medium mouthfeel with a dry malt with caramel and light spice with a nice dry finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a very good Belgian ale,

Draft at Tyler’s in Apex. Rusty amber. Compact white head. Nose is spicy, floral, and yeasty with sweet malt, light caramel and fruit. Taste is peppery and floral with sweet malts, light citrus, hops and yeast notes. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Ends with more caramel, yeast, sweet malts, spices, and fruit notes.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Caramel and yeast aroma with light spice. Toffee and eatrhy yeast flavor with banana and light grass. Medium-plus bodied. Banana, yeast, and caramel lingers.

sample at fall 2009 tasting at brasserie jo. big yeasty nose that slowly reveals weizen like characteristics. sharp and refreshing again like the beer it seems to be emulating. hit of booze in aroma is fleeting but returns with a prickly sensation on the palate. color is a shade off of simple orange with near typical belgian head.
