| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2009 Bottle from Mac’s on West Peachtree. Fairly big yeast and fruit aroma. I think I am smelling something along the lines of cranberry/grape. This is a pungent beer, no question about it, but it is not extremely nuanced. A lighter caramel brown for a Belgian, but it looks average. Not much head on this thing. A weak dark fruit flavor, with the alcohol coming through too much. Not a bad palate, but nothing special. Slight yeast flavor as well. This beer just isn’t doing much for me. It has a great dark fruit flavor with grapes and raisins coming through, but that is about it. Not very impressed especially paying $11 for a 750. BCAR (216), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2009 Nose is metallic and a little faint. Ale is clear amber with minimal head. Flavor is sweet with light alcohol notes. Finish is fairly thin and a little unsatisfying. Easy drinker, but I expected more. paiste2002 (158), Saugus, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2009 750 ml bottle. Pours a dark copper color with little to no head what so ever. Aroma is orange, honey, malty sweet, raisins, some slight spice. Flavor is caramel, honey, maltiness, bread, dark fruit, orange peel, spice and yeast. While a touch thin in body it was a nice beer none the less. ante (2942), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2009 Bottled. Pours out in a hazy pale amber colour with rich creamy white head. Yeast, banana, mild spices, pears and candied sugar in the aroam. Medium-bodied with notes of banana, bugar, ild anise and yeast. Yeasty but still rounded finish of banana, caramel, sweet licorice and almonds. Teege (105), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2009 750 ml from redlight redlight. Tannish/rust translucent body and fizzy head. Citrus in the nose, lots of bread. Even more bread in the flavor. Extremely light much to my surprise. A little disappointing as far as Trappist beers are concerned. I would like to see a lot more going on. Despite that, it is very easy to drink and tasty though not that complex. Miksu (2220), Jyväskylä, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2009 0.33 l bottle at Old Bricks Inn, Jyväskylä. Hazy amber color. The aromas of orange, honey, red currant, perfumed spiciness and alcohol. Sweetish flavor with toffee, caramel, orange, pepper, clove and red berries. Sharp carbonation. Restrained fruitiness and spiciness, at least in Belgian standards. Sweet and mellow, no balls. KAggie97 (2459), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep, rich cheddar orange with a nice off-white head. Aroma is orange, peach, sweet yeast, and a touch of raisin/plumb. Flavor is a doughy sweet raisin with a finish of peach and orange peel. Zesty, tingly mouthfeel that deceives the drinker into thinking the beer is thinner bodied than it is really. Finish seems to resonate with apple juice aged in the dank, musty cellar located under the brewery. A nice beer.
