| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 19, 2009 Though my palate is not as refined as the senior members on the site, I can definitely taste a banana nut bread component to this beer. beautiful color and a very nice smell. Large and lasting head too. $8.99 for 1p 9.4fl oz in my neck of the woods. Overall a good beer from the trappists! BgThang (118), Texas, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 18, 2009 This is a big beer at 10% it smells like bubble gum, raspberrys and other hard coated candies. The taste is very much like the cheap hard candy raspberries with the gooey center in them that has the fake printed beery on the outside of wrapper that twist only at the top. This beer would get you drunk with out you even knowing it. It really is that smooth.
Had it at the dig pub in cedar park on tap

It pours a mahogany colour with a medium tan head.
Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, prunes and raisins with notes of banana and alcohol.
Flavour is like the aroma but the alcohol is almost completely hidden.
Well balanced, a very good beer! johninmelb (692), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 8, 2009 Sweet nose of banana and cloves. Pours a lovely deep golden copper with a persistant tan head. Flavour is slow to develop - starting gently sweet with more banana and some mulled wine spice but then develops a richness anda bitterness that pleases and contains hints of nutmeg and fresh baked bread. The lingering flavour is malty and rich with a big fat kick of alcohol on the back of the tongue that adds rather than detracts. ska (129), Italy
