Warm esters and sweet alcohol as well as some malty hints dominates the aroma. The flavour is quite complex dominated by figs, orange, plums soft malt and a long balanced finish with some hops. OK but could use a year or two to settle...

Bottle labeled Konings hoeven. This is an interestingly spicy quadrupel. Fizzy, peppery, malty, chewy, warm. Though I am drinking this mid-spring, I appreciate the full-bodied complexity of this wonderful brew.

Bottled(330ml). -Ruby red coloured, small head that fade away for about 2 seconds (the beer was served too cold), pleasant alcoholic fruity nose. The taste is sweet fruity (berries and dried fruit), alcoholic spicy and light yeasty. Very complex brew. This is a beer to drink and enjoy in chilly spring evening.

The suspended carbonation of this exquisite ale in a quadruppel brew leaves me speechless, but not wordless. One of my favoraite Belgian brews to date, it’s flavor is sublime, the aftertaste beckons for anolther gullp. What a treat!

Thanks to Ramenen. Bottle: Caramel and licorice on a floral and spicy background. ABV is well blended into this complex brew.

Bottle. Bought it at New Beer Distributors in NYC. Pours a burgundy color. Medium bodied, sweet malty taste, very rich and warming.

A powerful creamy aftertaste is the signature of this beer. Dark and warming alcohol with a sweet creamy overlay. Chewy too. Beautiful.

33cl bottle. Pours a dark amber-red with a lacy head; a little light for a quad, but still nice looking. The aroma is a little tart and yeasty with a healthy dose of alcohol that burns a little. Caramel, raspberry, yeasty tanginess and some bubble-gum flavors. At first, the funky tartness is pretty noticeable, but it mellows as the beer warms. Finishes dry with a sharp alcohol bite that is slightly distracting. Pretty full body with smooth, creamy carbonation. A little different than the other trappist quads that I’ve had, with less malt richness and more alcohol bite. Almost leaning toward a tripel with the dryer spicier qualities.
