Apricots dominated the flavours with notes of honey. Thick in body in addition to lots of sediment. Mildly sweet, not too bitter. aru (105), Smørum, Denmark

The taste is rich and sweet with an ok balance between malt and sweetness. zapprentice (310), East Setauket, New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.2oz bottle into a goblet.
Appearance: The body has a dark crimson amber color with bright ruby highlights and good clarity. It forms a small light tan head on top that fades out fast leaving little to no lacing.
Smell: Its nose has some fruity, raisin like estery notes with some honey like sweetness and dark sugary notes.
Taste/Mouth: The flavor starts on a somewhat thin on a medium body with sweet candy and a honey malt base with simple mild fruity notes. Raisin is the stand out. The presence of alcohol is very mild and adds some brandy like complexity to the finish. Hop flavor and bitterness are not noticeable. The texture is slick and thinner than I would expect for a Quad. The carbonation is light and somewhat fizzy.
Notes: I was really under-whelmed by this beer. It tasted fine but it lacked the complexity and body of other Quadruples I have tried.

The fact that this one is a strong beer doesn’t seem to affect its taste. Its nice amber red color makes a good impression at the beginning. Its sweet bitterness confirms that impression. Very nicey treated beer. My congratulations to the brewery!!! DigitalMan (118), Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2009 The bottle I got wasn’t that great. Tasted like it needed to age for a bit. Very strong alcohol profile, like a fresh barleywine. I also tried their tripel at the same time, which was excellent. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Amazingly good. Starts with an elegantly embossed bottle leading to the rich copper colour and a big foamy head, tan in colour. The aroma was slightly "fruity" and also of spices; for the life of me I know not which ones. Taste and mouthfeel were just superb, with more fruit and spice. minch25 (357), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Translucent hazy orange body (very light for an abt it seems); medium beige head, doesn’t last long. Deep aroma - bread, alcohol tones, apricot hints. Initial kick of alcohol, finishing kick of alcohol; doesn’t come off particularly boozy however. Missing the range of dark flavors typical of the style; rather this seems more of a tripel/quad hybrid. Bread, mandarin orange, fruitcake, reminds me of Abbaye des Rocs’ brews. A well made and respectable monastic beer.
