| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2009 It pours dark amber brown with a nice robust off-white head. It is extremely carbonated. The aroma is of golden malts, honey, wheat, I can’t smell the alcohol at all. The taste is very similar to the smell and quite nice all around: honey, dark malts, dark fruits, and has a slight alcohol sting at the end. Wolfbass (90), Firenze, Italy
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Amber color , with beige fragrant head. Attractive aroma, pleasant, full of malt, sugary and of fruit (plums and orange). Full body. In mouth it is energetic, splendidly winding, it passes from the initial sweet, to a long end, dry and medium bitterish. It hides well the tall alcoholic gradation. Marvelous. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 330mL bottle. Pours a clear amber-gold colour with a head that quickly diminishes. More or less a bigger version of the Tripel, the extra alcohol is very noticeable on the nose, with malty aromas (particularly toast and caramel) dominating the yeast, and very little hops. Fruity, spicy, good balance of flavours. Smooth on the palate with medium to high carbonation. vikingguy (149), Chaska, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Koningshoeven bottle. Pours a murky rusty brown color, with off white head. Fragrant sweet malt aroma; notes of banana. Taste is big, malty and sweet. Banana and honey are the most dominant flavors. Also notes of caramel, brown sugar, plum and dark chocolate. Astingent bitterness at the end. Alcohol well hidden. This is a good quad but seems a little sharp and cloying compared to other quads. May be better with some age. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Decent Quad. Pours amber with white head. Lots of fruity notes in this one, even some banana and mango. Aroma is must and fruit. Finishes clean. keidjxz (77), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a impressively long lasting head and nice lacing. Flavor is of candi sugar dark fruit and it has a smooth minimal finish. StinkBall (76), Asheville, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Nice aroma of plums and pears. Dark amber with a one-finger head that lingers. Carbonated, full-bodied mouthfeel. Fruit taste hits first but has a strong alcohol aftertaste. Alcohol is way more obvious than with the Belgium Trappists ales. A good beer but not as good as the Belgium beers. I would drink it again.
