FishManLA (149), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Apr 13, 2008 Bottle. The color of an old copper penny with a relatively thick tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Moderate lacing. Nose of prunes, caramel, and coffee. Flavor is of dark fruit with notes of caramel, coffee, pepper, and then... a finish of alcohol. Pure and simple. Like when you do a shot of liquor. The alcohol punch, not that noticeable until the finish, serves as the final kick to each sip. This one would be a good cold weather brew (It’s April, and not that cold outside, as I sampled it). The beer drinker’s answer to brandy!
Beer_Hawk (628), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark orange with a huge creamy off-white head that left good lacing. Sweet fruity aroma with light alcohol present. Flavor also finds sweet fruits with a malt and yeasty backing. Medium body with a warming alcohol feeling. dwbecraf (1), , Michigan, USA does not count Jul 8, 2008 One of the finest beers produced in the Netherlands. Complex yet balanced flavors. Dark fruit and caramel flavors apparent immediately with a sweet malt and raisin tasting finish. Full bodied but not overly so. Aroma was average for a quadruple, if not a bit overpowering. Overall an excellent beer! MuttyD (38), Cambridge, USA Jul 6, 2008 One of my favorite quads/abts. Foamy/soapy head. Beautiful brown/amber color. Sweet, malty, brown sugar and sweet fruit. robforbes (618), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 1, 2008 purchased at red apple in bremerton, washington.
