Clay bottle... 50 cl.. Love it when the wrapping is a show off. Pours a dark goden with a fading head. The nose is expressive and kicking with citrus mixed with grass, butter, iodine, vanilla and melted butter. The taste is of cause trappist-like and I taste hops, plums, burned malts and brown sugar with a well-balanced finish. Thx to Faith no More for making the sountrack to this one.

Bottle.NIce dark orange pour. Aroma is sweet peaches, yeast. Nice round taste of citrus, banana and peaches. Not great but a nice solid example of the style.

330 ml bottle. Nice amber orange colour, with a good white head that disipates too fast, leaving just a ring. Smell of oranges, plums, some subtle vanilla and medicinal or phenolics notes. Yeast and sulphurs too. Sweet flavour though with some rough tones of yeast. Taste of candy, citrus notes, banana and peaches. Not so strong body.

Pours a nice amber color with medium head that stays. If you swirl around the head comes back. The aroma is very faint, ripe banana like. Fruity, sweet and tarty. Ok but personally i think is overrated compare to other non trappist tripel. B

Bottle (labeled as Koningshoeven Tripel). Pours a slightly cloudy orange, with minimal yeast sediment, and a thick head with large bubbles, which dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is Belgian yeast and muted citrus. The yeast is the most prominent flavor; also apparent are citrusy fruits and some spices. The 8% ABV is quite apparent, and less well-balanced than one would hope. The mouthfeel lacks the creamy yet sharp aspect of many Belgian Tripels. Overall, a fine beer, but there are plenty of better examples of the style.

Pours a nice amber color with moderate, but quickly dissipating head. Aroma is not real strong but is very sweet (almost like those candy circus peanuts we ate as kids) and some floral notes. Flavor is not quite as sweet, but still very fruity, with notes of banana and yeast. Medium boded and a dry finish that hides the alcohol well. A solid beer, but not the best tripel out there.
