Aroma of sweet caramel and light fruits with a hint of biscuits and bready yeast. Body starts fairly full and caramely malty sweet with a decent light fruity complexity and some brown sugar. Finishes smooth with a hint of warmth. A pretty decent tripel. Nate (2538), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Dark golden amber cloudy with frohy off-white lacing head. Heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts with sugary grainy sweetness, bubblegum and floral notes, mild yeast presence. Light funky sweet finish with dry yeastiness and no bitterness. Sweet after, though not cloying. Nice tripel. mpeve (28), Bolwarra, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Little noticeable aroma for a tripel. Amber in colour and medium bodied. Wonderful acidic fruit flavours, orange passionfruit. The alcohol is detectable but not overpowering. A really warming drop for a cold winter’s evening (which it is). | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Light amber color and white head with decent size. Nose is steel and slight skunk wheat. Skunkier than the dubbel. Tastes include smokey grain and earth. A little astringent with a cidery backdraft. Medium carbonation and medium body. Decent trippel. Defreni (999), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Flaske. EN forholdsvis skuffende trippel. En klassisk duft og smag af pære som nok er La Trappes varemærke. Samt en lidt mørkere farve end normale trippels. MrBunn (1524), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2007 Updated: Jul 18, 2007Bottle. Beautiful amber colored body with a massive head. Aromas are grainy and fruity. Candi sugar is the first impression, but it gives way to a malty fruit presence that is well balanced and very enjoyable. Not as complex as some of the other tripels I’ve tried, but comes off very well. bhensonb (4237), Woodland, California, USA

Beautiful orange color with a white head that filmed rapidly. Medium bodied. Mild carbonation. Starts with candy sweetness. Heat. Fruity perfumes. Something like sucking on the core of a pear. There is a lot of fruit mix, but I have difficulty in effecting a separation. The finish is rather dry, and the mouth is left as though it had the skin of a pear imposed. What kind of pear? Maybe Bosque. The complexity is very entertaining, and this ale seems seriously underrated. And it’s not Belgian. Amazing. Thanks to Monument Wines and Liquors in Concord, CA., for the opportunity. badlizard (2334), Berkeley, California, USA
