Pours a dark orange with an off-white head, it’s a bit hazy. The aroma is of orange peel, a bit of sweet malt, and some yeast characters. The taste is bready, with some plum characters, and has a slight spice on the finish. There seems to be some fruit notes near the finish as well. A light warming effect lingers. This beer has a medium-light body which the suspended yeast plays a role. This is a well made beer but I’m not too impressed.

From Bottle, deep orange with nice tan head, aroma is quite perfumy with some marmalade, cheese, apples and clove. Flavor is quite alcoholic with caramel, butterscotch, apples, banana and lots of yeast in this brew. finishes bitter, body is medium. OK triple.

Moving on from their Dubbel, the Tripel packs more punch, more spice and more body. It’s a very nice tripel. There’s a fair bit of sweetness, and the flavor is nice, but I’m still a bit disappointed by this Trappist brewery. The Trappist designation has little to do with quality, so I probably shouldn’t have had as high hopes. At any rate, this beer pours an auburn gold. The liquid is translucent but somewhat hazy. It’s actually a very nice color with pretty golden highlights around the edge of the glass. The aroma is full of caramel malt with apricots, vanilla and rum all chiming in. The flavor is similar. There’s a phenolic note and the alcohol is well-hidden. I’m a little disappointed that this beer doesn’t pack even more of a punch than the Dubbel, but the Quad is still on deck.

Bottle. An average sized white head over a clear orange-brown body. Aroma of alcohol and coriander. A spicey taste and a pleasant warmth. A balanced finish.

Bottle. Bit hazy orange body with a longlasting creamy white head. Aroma malt, caramel, fruit, yeast and spices. Nice balanced flavour of coriander, spice, yeast, malt, hops and caramel. Smooth bodied. Very nice tripel.

33 cl bottle. Pours a clear dark-orange colour with vanishing creamy white head. Aroma is malt, spicy and alcohol. Flavor is fruity with some yeast and alcohol. Little bitterness in the aftertaste. Dry finish. Light body and little carbonation. Not so great.

courtesy of cartdan. pours hazy golden, white head. Good example of Trappist, not my fav. of them. Pours dark orange with thin off white/beige head. Some nice grainy mouthfeel with dark fruits that seem to be overpowering the experience. Some yeast add to the palate experience and finish.

25 oz. bottle at local pizza pub. Very nice tripel spicy flavor. Darker than normal color. Really liked this one. Spicier than, but maybe not quite as full as Chimay white.
