spporras (260), Finland Oct 17, 2006 Updated: Nov 2, 2006(Bottle BBE 12/08) Fruity (banana) and slightly yeasty aroma. Dark golden colour, hazy and average size, white, very slightly lasting head with fair lacing. Fruity (banana), slightly caramel and acidic flavour. Lively carbonated, medium-bodied and slightly alcoholic palate. 06/10/06 Aarleks (404), Sydney, Australia Oct 15, 2006 Bottle: Very slightly hazy gold that glows beneath a whort lived white head. Lots of spicy banana and clove aromas atop a pleasant ’thikness’ and lemony apricot notes. Classic Tripel in the mouth; spicy and bitey with some lovely wheaty, banana and cloves, a quenching floral bitterness that takes all but a lingering sweetness, and a warming white pepper alcohol presence. My only criticism is a rather short palate. Very nice. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Oct 13, 2006 Updated: Oct 19, 2006Beer pours deep gold/orange with a thick, uneven, gorgeous off-white head. The aroma is very malty, yeasty, and bready - hints of spice. The taste begins very sweet. The middle of the flavor asserts some mild hop flavor and some fruit (hints of prune). The finish has a little more hops, lots of malty sweetness, yeasty goodness, some spice (nutmeg, cinnamon), and alcohol. The beer is a bit heavy, but the mouthfeel is lightened by the carbonation (not syrupy). The finish is long, sweet, and warming. lgklotet (420), Singapore, Singapore Oct 12, 2006 (On tap at Monk’s Cafe Sthlm, Sweden) Ok, so does this stuff even come on tap? And why was the brew in my glass clear golden? Taste and aromawise, this was sweet, alcoholic and estery.. a bit thin.. tasted sort of like a pasteurized and filtered version of what could’ve been a great beer.. The Etruscan (304), Tuscany, Italy Oct 11, 2006 Off white head. Amber color. Aroma is malty with fruity (peach) and light wooden, alcohol and caramel notes. Flavor is malty too with ripe fruits tones and a pronounced caramelly accent, ending in a fruity finish. Medium bodied. trafford (171), Germantown, Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2006 Another great Abby Triple. It is sold as Koningsheven Tripel in Memphis and will no longer be avail. A great beer that is very smooth for the Alchol % LeoN (26), Athens, Greece Oct 2, 2006 The best from the La Trappe. Hazy, cloudy body with a medium head that will not stay long on the top of the glass. Smooth and easy drinking beer. One of the best Tripel. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Bottle from the SAQ served in a trappist glass. Poured a hazy and dark golden with a medium head that vanishes quickly. aroma is sweet malt, spices and alcohol. Taste is spicy and sweet. woth a good dose of malt and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not as rich as the quadruple, but very good anyway.
