Tmoney99 (4660), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 8, 2006 Bottle from Koningshoeven 4 pack. Poured a cloudy light brown with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate toasted caramel malty, tart citrus and small alcohol aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2006 Funky sourdough aroma emanates from this cidery hazy brown colored beer. It tastes somewhat better than it smells, with fast fleeting malt, and little else. Only $2.30/11.2 oz, and still not a bargain in my book. RobertGBG (109), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 4, 2006 Strong smell of the alcohol and like a typical belgian beer (the smell I don’t like), sweet ,some bitterness Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 28, 2006 Bottle picked up the ’Dodgy Deli’ on the Cowley Rd, Wed 23rd August. This is right up there with the Quadrupel of theirs I had very recently. Pours a warm golden colour with a sweet, rich and fruity aroma, this is big on bananas from the very first sip, a wonderful rich creamy, malty taste envelopes your taste buds but it just keeps coming back to banana’s for me, not a problem at all as this is yet another stunner from Tilburg. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Aug 24, 2006 Shiny golden with a big cap of butter colored head. Bright rum vapors--spicy and restless, a layer of warm, melanoiden rich malt, and green plums to round out the aroma. Lively carbonation and a fruity sweetness, a touch of tartness, and a clean dry finish. A well executed tripel! hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 19, 2006 Dark golden with a large white head. Very sweet, spicy fruit aroma. Taste is bitter-sweet, peachy fruit. Coriander listed in ingredients: not sure if I picked it up. A persistent bitter aftertaste. A multi-faceted alcoholic brew, utterly beguiling. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 17, 2006 Bought it in a Koningshoeven 4pk with a Trappist Glass. Darker than expected. Thought it would be a light hazy golden, it was amber and creamy. Lots going on in this beer. Lots of sweetness and soft fruits. Malty throughout. Slight alcohol burn. ajolly2 (123), USA Aug 17, 2006 Amber body, thin head, lots of fruit. Not my favorite trappist, but I highly recommend it.
