Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Nov 28, 2006Aroma: wonderful, APPLE, some pear, coriander, yeast, malt, candisugar, sourish.
Appearance: golden yellow, slightly cloudy, yellowtinged foam that sets typically.
Flavor: bittersweet, cask, peculiar, roasted, pear.
Palate: soft, little carbonation, full-bodied, like a good wine. Miksu (2193), Jyväskylä, Finland Aug 5, 2006 Bottled. Amber color with creamy long lasting head. Orangey and fruity aroma with hints of melon. High carbonation. Orangey flavor with exotic fruits, sweet maltiness and warming alcohol. Sweet and fruity finish with marmelade flavor. This beer plays mostly on fruity esters. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Aug 2, 2006 Dark gold in appearance, thin but creamy head. Aroma was initially quite woody, with hay accents. As it warmed, some cotton candy and alcohol emerged. Flavors were very lightly of apricot, a bit of bread, a dose of oakiness, and a grassy hop finish. Alcohol is quite clearly present throughout, and ultimately detracts from things a bit. Having said that, this isn’t a bad beer by any means. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2006 Slightly murky amber color with pillowy half inch off white head. Excellent lacing. Right out of the bottle the aroma was nice ripe banana. Later the sweet malt, sugar and a hint of yeast spiciness entered the aromatic picture. Solid Belgium flavor of brown sugar, plums, apple juice, banana, grapes, dry malts and yeast. The finish is dry and not too sweet. Very tasty. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 30, 2006 Clear amber body with a thin creamy white head. Sweet malty aroma with a fruity edge. Sweet fruity flavor, some banana, and a malty end. Nightfall (645), Athens, Greece Jul 24, 2006 Updated: Jan 26, 200933 cl bottle. Hazy golden color, medium head tha fades rather quickly. Sweet fruity aromas and so is the taste. A class lower than the Abt/Quadrupel of La Trappe but a very nice beer nevertheless. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2006 Some head on this dark tripel, but it doesn’t linger. Aromas are astringent and slightly floral. Taste is the same -- it is also kind of vegetal. Lasting finish of caramels and malts. Not the best of the trappsits I have tasted. The celery taste is a little offputting. Yeast plays a dominant role here. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jul 20, 2006 Coutesy of and shared with gputty. C&C 750. Clear orange with a slight white head. Nose is fruity and a bit spicy - the usual suspects. Flavor greatly increased upon warming. Sweetly fruity, some caramel and coriander. Not bad. Alcohol somewhat pronounced in the finish, detracts from the overall experience.
