11.2 oz. Not sure how old this is - it still has the La Trappe label on it. Pours a dark amber, one o the darkest tripels I’ve seen. Small quickly diminishing head. Smell is earthy, carmel, heavy yeast/biscuity - very appetizing. Initial taste expodes in the mouth - earthiness, sourness and a light nutty flavor. Light sweetness, not as sweet as most tripels. Strikes me more of a Belgium strong at this point that a tripel, its probably the aging. Enjoyable.

Rather clear amber colour with a big, lacing head. Nice yeast and fruity hop aroma with pepper. Sweet and fruity flavours, with peppery hoppiness providing offsetting dryness. Full body. A good tripel, but not the best.

Pours a coppery, whisky color (with thick legs to match), a haze of large particulate and a small, cream-colored head that fades fast to a halo. Caramel malted aroma with pear, pepper and white wine. Smooth, thick body with a fluffy lift to finish. Flavor is sweet malted fruitiness with earthen and woodsy notes, ending with grapeskin. In a word, relaxing.

1st pour from a 750 ml corked and caged bottle produced a very clear bright dark orange into my snifter. It had about a half of an inch worth of head which lasted a bit and settled down into a thin layer of foam. Nice carbonation can be seen and felt. It smells lightly of banana and other fruits. The taste is of sweet banana and the finish is somewhat dry. Finishes real clean for the initial flavor. 2nd pour from same bottle yielded a cloudy orange class full of particulates. The yeast got out. The aroma is more intense, but the flavor remains about the same.

18 Feb 06 - Sweet fruity, lightly spiced hop aroma. Cloudy light=amber colour with good lacing. Big hoppy malt fruit and spiced flavour. Nicely bittered hoppy finish and a hint of spice aftertaste.

Banana scent that is really strong. Thin head. Tons of sediment. Very warm deep flavour. Fruits and honey with a bit of spice mixed with alcohol. Warm aftertaste that tingles on the tongue. Very nice.
