tHeReDsTrIpEr (2), USA does not count Nov 28, 2005 A good beer with nice aroma, color, and taste. Pleasant on the palate with asweet aftertaste.
Boutip (2332), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Nov 28, 2005 Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a nice light brown head with good retention. Aroma of candy with sweet malt is totally irresistible. Taste is also dominated with this sweet malt presence with a subtle mix of spice in the background. Alcohol is very well hidden but body is definitely too thin, which seems to be a characteristic of this brewery. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Nov 24, 2005 33 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom. Amber colour with a fine rocky head. Great aroma of toffee, some sweet caraeml and hints of dried fruit. Also great flavour of candy and caramel, that ends up with a warm feeling from the alcohol. A great tripel. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Nov 21, 2005 330ml brown bottle split with gilvanblight. Poured a nice shade of glowing orange, only a light layer of foam on top, tan in colour, somwhat clingy and sticky. Strong banana aroma. Flavour is sweet with some oranges, cloves with a long finish. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Nov 19, 2005 33cl bottle from Auchan. Amber colour with thick lasting beige head. Bubble gum and boiled sweet aromas. Some toffee. Some complexity in mouth. Candy sugar and banana flavours. Finish has some zingyness and more banana/bubble gum. Drying hop on end sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA Nov 15, 2005 This beer pours a golden orange with a minimal head that hastily faded. Lots of yeast and sweet malt in the aroma with some raisin notes. Bready fruitcake flavor with notes of honey and... something slightly off that I can not quite put my finger (or toungue for that matter) on. Spicey bitter in the finish seeking to balance the upfront sweets. High ABV is noted but fairly blended in the flavors. This Tripel is only a bit above average. MoritzF (4856), Bochum, Germany Nov 8, 2005 (bottle) Amber colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Yeasty, sweet caramel aroma with raisins. Sweet flavour, medium to full body. Sweet roastmalty taste with notes of overripe fruits and alcohol and a touch of bubblegum. Sweetbitter, light spicy and strong but still pleasant alcoholic finish. johninmelb (688), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Nov 6, 2005 Bottle, 8 Years Old+. Quite remarkable given the circumstances - the bottle was old and dusty and not poured very well. Nevertheless, the beer showed superb sweet honey notes with hints of fig and a character of beechwood. A classic, and up in the top three Trappist tripels in my book. Judging by my over-the-average rating, it clearly ages well!
