heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jan 2, 2005 Very thin white head with a slightly murky dark gold body. The aroma is bananas, cognac and caramel. The taste is malty with bread and cherries. Also some vanilla and caramel come out as it warms. The body is thin. Unimpressive for the style. yayforbeer (641), Orange Park, Florida, USA Dec 30, 2004 Hazy orange-brown with a little creamy white head and a bit of lacing. Fruity and malty aroma. Nice malty flavor with banana and sweet caramel. Similar to the dubbel but with a little heavier body, and a touch more bitterness at the finish. The flavors are a little deeper and stronger as well. Tasty and enjoyable. Not an Allagash, but I like it. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Dec 25, 2004 Pours a three-finger head that leaves a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Light-medium carbonation. Medium bodied. Nose is alcohol, starts with some harshness of alcohol, finish is on the sour side not what I was expecting with a triple, their dubbel and quadrupel are better. 750ml bottle for $6.99 from Hoosick St. Discount Bev, Troy, NY. thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Dec 23, 2004 Pour is a deep dark almost tan. Nice size white head foams after the pour. Aroma is nice an musty almost like a dry wine. Flavor is sweet, fruity and a dash of honey. Nothing really overpowers though and this one is quite bland. I will still try the dubbel and quad though. The good thing about this brew is the price. Probably the cheapest trappist out there. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Dec 18, 2004 Bottled. An amber coloured tripel with a reasonable white head. The aroma and taste are very sweet with notes of banana, bubblegum and candy sweets. The yeasty alcohol also comes through. Drinkable but really too sweet to be great. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 8, 2004 Rich orangey-brown with a thin but lasting creamy tan head. Nice aroma of sweet malts and orange-citrus and alcohol and bananas with some spice. Too carbonated on the tongue to begin but I like the malts in the flavour. A little thin in the mouthfeel but lingers nicely. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 2, 2004 Updated: Jul 20, 2005Nice light brown color with a foamy tan head, this has an awfully sweet aroma, strong malts with some fruitiness. It’s light, yet syrupy in the mouth. Sweet malt tastes, little else, execept for a dash of bitterness on the sticky finish. I prefer the dubbel and quadrupel.
