Aroma has good spices with hoppy, floral, caramelly and fruity touch, mild alcohol also there. Medium to full bodied. Crispy palated. Flavor is more alcoholic with spices and lemon, also some bitter hops there. Aftertaste lasts with medium alcohol and some sweet caramel. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

Actually very weird why the La Trappe brewery isn't entitled to the label of Trappists, because the monks decide everything according to beer brewing and even commercials on tv. The only thing is that the brewery is a part of Interbrew. I hope it's more a religious issue than a beer issue, because their beers are certainly Trappist quality! daknole (3030), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Bottle from Total Wine. Amber pour, a bit hazy with a nice white head. Aroma is very fruity...some bananas and some stone fruit. Flavor is quite good. Yeast, spice, banana and a slight bit of bitterness can be found. presario (3009), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2004 11.2oz bottle. Amber clouded with particulate. Light head maintained with continued carbonation. Very mellony aroma with background candy sugar scents. Spicey and zesty up front. Mellon taste in the finish mixed with light yeast notes and alcohol pockets. Very dangerous and easy to swallow. shrubber85 (3006), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2006 Bottle. Spicy (nutmeg, pepper, anise) dried fruit aroma. Peach-amber color with moderate head and effervescence. Sour corn malt flavor primarily with raisin, peach and pepper notes and a light bitter finish. Has quite a bit of lager characteristics in the flavor - sort of like I spiiled some MGD into a decent tripel - very strange for a Belgian style beer. Okay taste but man I don’t really get the lager flavor and had to knock off some points for that. rauchbier (3004), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2002 Bottle conditioned. Amber coloured, darker than most triples with a moderate thin white head, good condition and lots of yeast chunks in suspension. Complex aromas of alcohol, oranges, caramel, malt and a strangly sugary homebrew note that is explained on the label (but only in German) by the inclusion of cane sugar in the recipe. Label also mentions coriander but this is less apparent. Bready yeast and toffee malt dominate the mouth and the finish is spicy, malty and slightly bitter with an alcoholic tingle.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2005 In the 750 ml bottle purchased from Gomer’s. An amazing bargain for $2.99. Wish that I had purchased more! Pours a deep amber color with an off white head. Fine fruity aroma of raisins and plums. This seems closer to an abby than a triple. Flavor is sweet and smooth with a good supporting body of malt and a strong alcohol aroma and mouth. Quite nice due to the drinkability. Was awesome with a T-bone steak grilled outdoors.
