Great first taste, that certain tongue tingle. Malt, bread, citrus. Nice mouthfeel, complex, finishes well. Terrific! austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Jun 3, 2002 The only Dutch Trappist brewery! If you’re only gonna have one such brewery, it’s a good thing they do such a damn good job! This Tripel is quite tasty. Starts off sweet, then some hops hit you. It’s a very malty brew, as it should be. One of my favorite Tripels. Go seek this one out. Downside: the alcohol is not totally hidden. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 17, 2006 Rather clear amber colour with a big, lacing head. Nice yeast and fruity hop aroma with pepper. Sweet and fruity flavours, with peppery hoppiness providing offsetting dryness. Full body. A good tripel, but not the best. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2002 Aroma is interesting and difficult to define. Has a little smokiness to it, but it also has some spicy, pine-like sensations. Smooth on the palate, maybe even creamy. Short-lived head. Warm finish. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Clay bottle. Pours an impressive dark orange amber, cloudy, with a rapidly rising lively cream-coloured head that fades rather quickly. Fruity toffee aroma, sweet, hints of yeast and spices. Sweet palate, full-bodied, a little sticky, with flavours of almonds, marmalade, toffee, bread, and spices. Finish is dry, but not really bitter. Alcohol is a pleasing warmth in the throat. Very nice sipper! Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2006 Slightly murky amber color with pillowy half inch off white head. Excellent lacing. Right out of the bottle the aroma was nice ripe banana. Later the sweet malt, sugar and a hint of yeast spiciness entered the aromatic picture. Solid Belgium flavor of brown sugar, plums, apple juice, banana, grapes, dry malts and yeast. The finish is dry and not too sweet. Very tasty. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Muddy orangey brown sewage color with hardly any head. Ugliest tripel I have seen. Cotton candy and bubble gum nose. Thin, waxy palate. Malty, tropical fruit framework. Very sweet. Quite possibly an off bottle. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 28, 2003 Updated: Jul 29, 2003A very light amber coloring that is slightly cloudy and has a quickly fading head. The aroma is very lively and heady. I smell a very fruity aroma that has everything from raspberries to grapefruit, perhaps some melons even, even pineapple, I know I am reaching but there was a rainbow of fruit flavors here. The aroma is just amazing, I just could just sit here and smell this beer. If there was an air freshener of this beer I would be ecstatic. Alot of flavor in the taste and the aroma. Strong hints of bananas upon first tasting. An extremely good follower to the Corsendonk Christmas Ale. This beer does a very good job of keeping its flavor throughout. Thanks Indra!
