Light brown body with off-white quickly disappearing head. Caramel and fruit aroma. Taste is candysugar-sweet with malts and alcohol. Quite light mouthfeel. Finish is short and dry. Nice but too straightforward and plain for a tripel. . . . . . . . .

750 cl corked bottle cellared for 18 months. Big fluffy lasting off-white head. Clear dark copper colored body. Very aromatic. Peach and marzipan up front followed by scents of toffee, caramel, malt and yeast. Malt, candy-sugar, acdic fruits and alcohol in the flavors. Hints of yeast. Very mildly hopped. Medium body. Dry, fruity finish.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2003 Light copper. Unimpressive foam retention. Aroma of sponge cake and over-ripe peaches. Very uncharacteristic triple tinges. Other notes of candy sugar, rubber, toffee, cardboard, and a soft dash of vanilla. Starts very sweet with soft, gritty carbonation. Fruitcake and peach flavors. Afternotes of coconut, yams, light perfume, and light toffee hints. Finishes simultaneously dry and sweet. Strange acidity. Overly mushy. If I detected any hop presence, they are probably something similar to Fuggles, which do not sit well with me in a Triple. Overall rather clean and interesting. Still, a shameful 'Trappist' production which left me wanting more. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Spicy yeasty and citrusy aroma: lemon, orange, coriander, and sourdough bread. Zesty and yeasty flavors. Generally sweet profile, with a mild dry finish. Fluffy. Not terribly complex, but pretty good. Alcohol becomes noticeable in the finish, almost fuselly. radiomgb (2070), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Pours a dark amber, one o the darkest tripels I’ve seen. Small quickly diminishing head. Smell is earthy, carmel, heavy yeast/biscuity - very appetizing.
Initial taste expodes in the mouth - earthiness, sourness and a light nutty flavor. Light sweetness, not as sweet as most tripels. Strikes me more of a Belgium strong at this point that a tripel, its probably the aging. Enjoyable.
