May 3, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice hazy amber colour with a big creamy mostly lasting off-white head. sweet aroma of honey, caramel, toasted malt spices and alcohol. The flavour is sweet with honey and caramel, toasted malt, some dark fruits, spices, some oak and alcohol. Sweet spiced finish.

Not quite as good as the quad but easily better than the other two offerings from this brewery. Alcoholic aroma with hints of cream and red fruit. Similar notes in the flavour too. Something very strawberries and cream about it which I find rather enjoyable. Finish is brief with a tiny amount of hoppage which quickly turns bitter then gives a good sized kick of alcohol right at the death. Not bad.

May 6, 2007 Bottle. Pours a lovely slight hazy orange. Head is made up of lots of small milky white bubbles with a distinct creaminess on the top - a little lacing. Aroma is nice and fruity. A milky feel blending with a yeasty edge. Very full mouthfeel, very creamy for the style. Flavour is very complex. Begins with a powerful vinious edge, then a general sweetness comes through. It blends a nice spicyness with the malty sweetness and a tone of alcohol. Apples, berries, plums, raisins and a touch of oranges. Great!

Dec 2, 2004 (750ml bottle) Pours an orangish-amber body with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, apricots, and bananas. Nice malt and dark fruit flavor. Soft palate.

Jul 9, 2004 1pint, 9.4oz (750ml) Koningshoeven corked bottle. Medium amber in color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of small to medium particles. Fruity and sweet aroma and taste (bananas and bubblegum) with slight yeast. Light spices in the taste as well. Not a bad tripel. I have a 6 pack of La Trappe that I have had for 4 years that I can't wait to open and compare with the Koningshoeven labeled version.

Oct 28, 2003 Hazy amber, quite dark. The head is off-white and thin, not too well cut bubbles, but long lasting film. Aroma is fruity mangos and oranges. Light in mouth, a little weak on the palate, but nice fruitiness esters, peaches and oranges. Carbonation is medium with a slight flowery hops feel. It's honest, but indeed not trappist material, nor one of the great tripels.
