The aroma is very appealing: tart fruit, toffee, spice, alcohol and citrus. Flavour is more sweet than tart, with fruit and spice hiding most of the alcohol. Medium full with surprisingly little finish. Still a damn fine adult beverage. fraternie (710), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Amazingly smooth at the beginning, but seems to develop a little bitterness as it warms. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA

Slightly hazy orange with an especially strong aroma of fruits, slight alcohol and sweet candy; I really like this smell. The taste is complex, spicy, fruity, very good. This is a very nice tripel.

This one is MUCH better fresh. Very smooth and refreshing. Didn’t have the hot alcohol bite like the first sample I tried. Spice is clearly coriander which I find very tasty. Yeast delivers some fruity flavors too(banana?). I could drink a lot of these. rodenbach99 (696), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada

Quite remarkable given the circumstances - the bottle was old and dusty and not poured very well. Nevertheless, the beer showed superb sweet honey notes with hints of fig and a character of beechwood. A classic, and up in the top three Trappist tripels in my book. Judging by my over-the-average rating, it clearly ages well! oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

They are nothing special, and this tripel?
To creamy and sweet, and creamy!
It´s not very bad, but isnt
good, and I´m surprised about this
wannabe Trappist (2,6) [jul 16 2006] To my surprise this turned up at Kaffibrennslan in downtown Reykjavik, with glassware also. Peaches and banana in the nose, some candysugar with a hint of hop bitterness. Small head, plums, sweets and a spicy finish. Nice triple
