Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Tasted in Raftman Tulip (oops). Colour is dark golden colour, slight orange hue. Fluffy white head with good lacing. Aroma is swwet, with hint of honey, apricot and spice. Alcohol is noticeable in the taste, with a sweet honey / candy sugar beginning and a sharp bitter ending.

Serving: 330 ml. bottle. Appearance: Very slight hazy amber color with a large, foamy, off-white head. Very good head retention. Aroma: Dusty, ripe old fruit notes, a bit stale, woodsy, and light vinous notes. Flavor: Lighter than I was expecting. Notes of tobacco, leather, dark honey, and paper. Earthy in nature but a bit on the shallow side. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Just kind of there. Overall: Not bad, but it doesn’t have the complexity and subtleties of it’s higher ranked peers. Take it or leave it.

On tap at the Castle. Probably the best Abbey Triple I’ve ever had. Amazing, enticing fruity aroma of pears mostly, some apple, maybe some peach or apricot. It looks amazing too, not pale and cloudy, but pure amber, and light could get through. Flavour is more or less the same with a great mouth-feel, almost sticky, from the ABV. Very filling and totally different from other Triples I’ve had. I was totally surprised by this one, it really seemed unique to me. One of the best beers I’ve ever had from the Netherlands.

Amber color with a creamy, white head. Hoppy and spicy nose. Bitter, spicy with malt taste. High carbonation and a full body. Balanced, bittersweet finish.

Gorgeous smell, lovely taste, though a bit cloudy and a little too carbonated as it dances on your lips. Great cold but has undertones of apple cider which masks alcohol content. Loved it!!

Pours a slightly hazy amber-orange supporting a quite durable thin white head. With its apparent clarity, which is unusual for a true Belgian triple, it appears to have been filtered. Notable and fairly assertive aromas of banana, bubblegum, caramel, fresh yeast and various spices blend well together. Mouthfeel seems a bit thin and watery, but shows off a pleasant spritzy carbonation to style. Flavors come through a bit more reserved as compared to the aroma. Notes of yeasty fresh bread, caramel, nutmeg, banana, orange zest and ripe apple come through. Late palate reveals a moderate, somewhat harsh bitterness which is a bit unpleasant. I found the 8% alcohol a bit too tame to make this a satisfying triple. In the end, worth a try, but just OK.
