Aroma of Brett, fruit, Swiss cheese, hopcit, lively yeast esters, sweaty female body parts including feet and taint. Tastes hopcity, with a firm, dense, Bretty mouthfeel. The finish is citrusy and spicy, with more fruit and hops. Great complexity. I’d drink this any day of the week and twice on Sunday (and 15 times on Saturday). moderately yeasty (mold/basement), lightly to moderately malty (light grain),
with notes of alcohol, perfume, candied fruit. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Quite boring. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

A nice-looking, bubbly brew with an Octoberfest look to it, and with a malty, yeasty aroma with a hint of citrus. Flavor has more than a hint of orange and other fruits; nice but seemed too highly carbonated to me. Finish redeems, awesomely dry but with a nice lingering malty sweetness. Improves greatly as it warms. This used to be my favorite Trappist; sadly, it has diminished somewhat though I still think its quite nice -- but happily, I’ve discovered many better examples! motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic

Beautiful orange color with a white head that filmed rapidly. Medium bodied. Mild carbonation. Starts with candy sweetness. Heat. Fruity perfumes. Something like sucking on the core of a pear. There is a lot of fruit mix, but I have difficulty in effecting a separation. The finish is rather dry, and the mouth is left as though it had the skin of a pear imposed. What kind of pear? Maybe Bosque. The complexity is very entertaining, and this ale seems seriously underrated. And it’s not Belgian. Amazing. Thanks to Monument Wines and Liquors in Concord, CA., for the opportunity.
